First Uniform and textbook distribution day
Jan 2014, was the first time we distributed uniforms, textbooks and school supplies to 40 girs in two government schools in Nsawam, Ghana. We brought together the girls, their parents or guardians and the school staff in the Tieku and Sakyi Agyakawa Schools to explain our new school girl sponsorship program.
School personal chose needy and bright girls who were at risk of being taken out of school because their parents could not afford the school fees and the uniforms and supplies needed for their girls to remain in school.
We explained to all that in order for the girls to remain in the sponsorship program, they must attend school regularly and maintain a high grade point average. We also spoke to the parents on how to support the girls so that they could be successful and continue in the program.
